Frequently asked questions

Find quick answers about insurance claims, booking procedures, repair timeframes, and our Hertz car rental agency services in Kingaroy.

What should I do first after an accident?

Contact your insurer first to lodge your claim and get a claim number. Once lodged, contact our team (or wait for us to call you) to book a photo quote. We will photograph the vehicle, submit the quote directly to your insurer, and await their repair authorisation before starting work.

What do I need to bring for an insurance claim?

Please have your claim number and insurer details ready when you visit us. Many insurers, such as Suncorp, RACQ, Allianz, Youi, Shannon's, and QBE, require an electronic request linked from their system to ours before repairs can be officially processed.

Why is there typically a 4–6 week wait time for repairs?

Kingaroy Body Works is the largest repair shop in the region, serving the South Burnett community of more than 32,000 people.

Country roads and wildlife strikes mean we are often busy. If your repair needs parts, the usual wait time for a booking is around 4 to 6 weeks.

No parts related jobs have a typical wait time of 1 to 2 weeks.

How Long will my Repair Take?

Repair times vary according to the extent of damage and parts availability. While every effort is made to complete repairs as scheduled, unforeseen circumstances may affect the overall timeframe. Once the repair has been approved, our iBody management system provides an estimated completion date.

As a general guide, straightforward bumper replacements (no mechincal) typically take up to four days. More complex quarter-panel repairs may require up to three+ weeks, while full-side repairs can take up to five weeks. Please note that these timeframes are estimates and may be subject to change.

What about Hail Damage?

Great question! We work with a specialist PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) technician who visits our community to repair all types of hail damage. This also includes dents where the paint has not been damaged.

We’ll organise the quote and booking for you. The process is the same as our other quotes, although it may take a little longer than usual. As our PDR technician is based on the Coast and travels across Australia following storm events, he may only be in our area every 4–6 months.

Can I get an immediate price for a dent or private repair?

We can’t always provide a same-day price from photos alone. We may need time to check parts costs and find out whether there’s any structural damage.

Private quotes require a non-refundable $50 deposit. If you go ahead with the repair, the full $50 will be taken off your final invoice.

How much is a Hire Car?

We serve as a local agent for Hertz. All bookings must be made directly with Hertz by calling 4613631. Vehicle keys may then be collected from our shop.

While we are unable to provide a booking quote. Your insurance policy may cover the cost of a rental vehicle while repairs are being completed.

What types of jobs or repairs do you not accept?

To maintain fast turnaround times for insurance work, we do not undertake rust repairs, vehicle vinyl wraps, full vehicle resprays, or private sticker replacements (except on emergency services vehicles). For paintwork, we only paint individual panels at a time unless part of an insurance repair.

What are your trading and office hours?

We are open Monday to Thursday and closed Friday through Sunday, as well as over the Christmas holiday period. Please note that our office closes daily for lunch between 1:00pm and 1:30pm.

Do you Repair Chassis?

No. Your vehicle’s chassis is the structural foundation that holds everything together. While we do our best to accommodate every customer, we do not perform chassis repairs. These repairs require extensive time, specialized equipment, and highly technical work to restore the vehicle to its original condition. Our team is not equipped to confidently carry out this type of repair. If your insurance company contacts us, we will let them know.
